Aaron Butler, Ph.D. Senior Turnaround Consultant

I know from my work leading the turnaround of an inner-city high school that it takes extreme levels of commitment and optimism built upon a solid foundation of relationships. I enjoy the challenge.

The changes Aaron implemented as the vice principal of curriculum and instruction at a charter high school led to a significant increase in the percent of students with proficient and advanced scores in English, Mathematics, and Biology.  Aaron also led the implementation of the charter school’s federal School Improvement Grant. Aaron brings his experience, knowledge, and demonstrated leadership skills to AIR’s turnaround and transformation services as the on-site turnaround coordinator at Lanphier High School in Springfield, IL. Aaron also leads AIR’s turnaround work at Eisenhower High School in Decatur, IL. He provides coaching to district and school leadership as they implement the turnaround plan, working to insure that the initiatives are well-implemented and effective. Aaron has taught middle and high school mathematics and science and was an adjunct professor at the University of Missouri – St. Louis.  Aaron earned his Master of Science in Education Administration from Southwest Baptist University and his Ph.D. in Education Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Missouri – St. Louis.
