Rob Mayo, Ph.D. Senior Technical Assistance Consultant

My goal is community-wide academic achievement and social growth. I believe in holding all accountable -while empowering them – to serve students and families in earnest.

Rob is experienced in designing the systems that increase the site-level accountability of school leaders, improve the delivery of support services to students, and allow school and district leaders to better understand their data and improve their decision making. Rob provides targeted technical assistance to the schools and districts working with AIR and manages AIR’s field-based turnaround and school improvement teams. As a Performance Officer with the D.C. Public Charter School Board, Rob was responsible for performance management, regulatory compliance monitoring, and charter renewal, closure and initial authorization processes.  He also previously served as an administrator, guidance counselor and teacher within highly-regarded traditional public, private and public charter schools throughout the District of Columbia. Rob earned his M.Ed. in Guidance & Counseling from Bowie State University and his Ph.D. in Educational Administration from Boston College’s Lynch School of Education.
